E' uscito per l'editoriale Sometti il volume "NEW MEDIA DESIGN - Le nuove frontiere dell'arte" a cura di Alberto Cecchi dell'Università di Perugia. Il libro, con un saggio introduttivo di Cecchi, illustra i lavori di oltre 80 new media designers italiani, tra cui alcuni miei video stills. It's edited by Sometti "NEW MEDIA DESIGN - Le nuove frontiere dell'arte", curated by Alberto Cecchi form the University of Perugia. The book, with an opening essay of Cecchi, shows the works of more than 80 italian new media designers, among which some of my video stills. |

Monotono
è un duo audiovisivo formato da Valentina Besegher e Alessandro
Massobrio volto ad esplorare, attraverso l'utilizzo di mezzi elettronici
e computer ed in forma libera e narrativa, la fisicità del
suono e della luce come trama materica dei processi cognitivi e
dell'idea di consapevolezza che costruiamo di volta in volta nello
spazio e nel tempo. Monotono utilizza la forma della performance dal vivo, con l'utilizzo di riprese in 8 mm. e chitarra eleborati al computer: un percorso di 40 minuti lungo i profili di oggetti quotidiani o attraverso gli ampi spazi della natura in cui emerge, da un fondo introspettivo e lirico, il confine che separa e al contempo unisce naturale e artificiale, origine e cultura, tempo e storia. is an audiovisual duo by Valentina Besegher and Alessandro Massobrio
with the aim to explore, through electronic media and computers
and into free and narrative style, the physical part of sound and
light as the material weft of our cognitive process and of the personal
idea of consciousness that we are building into space and time.

| "Desperate" è un percorso visivo attraverso la vita e i segreti delle donne durante l’era mcCarthyana e un tributo musicale al pioniere della tecno Bruce Haack, con film cut-up, audio speeches ed elettronica old style; un viaggio ironico tra le pareti delle case americane di mezzo secolo fa pronto a svelare repressioni e angoscie di sorridenti casalinghe e madri impeccabili. L’interesse per l’estetica degli anni ‘50 e ’60, nei suoi aspetti patinati ma anche più torbidi e morbosi, unisce i percorsi artistici di Besegher e Blanche, la parte audio è curata dal musicista Flushing Device. "Desperate" is a visual journey through the life and the secret of the women during the McCarthy Era and a musical tribute to the pioneer of techno music Bruce Haack, with the aid of film cut-up, audio speeches and old style electronic music; an ironic trip into the american '50ies home walls that reveals repression and anguishes of the ever-smiling housewifes and impeccable mothers. The interests in '50ies and '60ies aesthetics, both in its patinated and morbid aspects, joins the artistic distances by Besegher and Blanche. The audio part is edited by the musician Flushing Device. |
